Brittany Ketcham, who works as a 911 operator at the North Shore Regional 911 Center, was diagnosed with the disease, this week, her friend Kristin Rupert said in a GoFundMe campaign. Ketcham will need 24 weeks of chemotherapy before undergoing surgery and radiation to fight the disease.
"If she could fight this thing with just her sheer willpower, positivity, and sense of humor she would be good to go," Rupert said. "Unfortunately treatment is very expensive even with insurance (as well as missed time at work) this is where she will need a little help."
Ketcham has also raised her son on her own but still finds time for others, Rupert added. Rupert is looking to raise $25,000 on her friend's behalf. People can donate by clicking here.
